Oakleaf's Holiday Season Runs Down One Parkway, While the Library Waits for Its Vote

October 29, 2026

Nearly everything on Oakleaf Plantation's calendar from now through early December happens at an Oakleaf Plantation Parkway address, or on the short streets that branch off it. A church hosts the November festival. A school, two churches and a community events group anchor the December parade. The one new name on the schedule this year belongs to the parade's presenting sponsor, a freestanding emergency room that opened on the Parkway less than a year ago.

Two larger additions have been discussed all year and are still waiting on approvals. The Oakleaf branch library and a grocery-anchored shopping center at Oakleaf Parkway and District Drive are not on this season's calendar. That makes November and December 2026 a season built on places you already know, and it is worth knowing which dates are firm and which still need checking.

The Parkway Calendar, Date by Date

Here is the season in the order it happens, starting with publish day. Lady Bird Academy of Oakleaf's Spooktacular runs Thursday, Oct. 29, from 5 to 8 p.m. at 1001 Oakleaf Plantation Parkway. The Fun 4 Clay Kids listing says it's free and includes a trunk-or-treat, food trucks, games and prizes. After tonight, the calendar moves on to fall and then Christmas.

Date Event Where Status
Sat., Nov. 7, 11 a.m.–2 p.m. Oakleaf Baptist Church Fall Festival, free 800 Oakleaf Plantation Pkwy Listed
Fri., Nov. 13 Food Truck Friday, Phase 1 345 Oakleaf Village Pkwy Falls on the 2nd-Friday rotation; confirm before going
Fri., Nov. 27 Food Truck Friday, Phase 2 710 Oakleaf Plantation Pkwy Falls on the 4th-Friday rotation, the day after Thanksgiving; confirm before going
Sat., Nov. 28 Christmas parade application deadline [email protected] Listed
Sat., Dec. 5, vendors 4 p.m., parade 6:30 p.m. 4th Annual Oakleaf Christmas Parade Trinity Baptist Church to Oakleaf High School Listed
Fri., Dec. 11 Food Truck Friday, Phase 1 345 Oakleaf Village Pkwy Falls on the 2nd-Friday rotation; confirm before going

The Fall Festival at Oakleaf Baptist Church is free and lists pony rides, food and bounce houses for the Saturday, Nov. 7 event at 800 Oakleaf Plantation Parkway, running 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Its midday hours set it apart from the other events in this post, which are all held in the evening.

The parade is the season's main event. Oakleaf Connect's listing for the 4th Annual Oakleaf Christmas Parade sets it for Saturday, Dec. 5. Vendors and food trucks open at 4 p.m., the parade starts at 6:30 p.m., and the route runs from Trinity Baptist Church to Oakleaf High School. The listing also promises Santa Claus, floats, holiday music, local vendors and photos with Santa.

Getting a Spot in the Parade Instead of Watching It

The parade is organized by community volunteers, and it is open to more than spectators. The listing has separate applications for parade participants, vendors, food trucks, sponsors and volunteers. The participant category is meant for floats, decorated vehicles, churches, schools, nonprofits, marching groups and community organizations. Email completed applications to [email protected] by Nov. 28, 2026.

That deadline is the Saturday after Thanksgiving. A youth team, HOA committee or small business that wants a float or a vendor table has about four weeks from today to decide and get its paperwork in. Holiday travel uses up part of that time.

Two Food Truck Fridays a Month, and Two Holidays in the Way

Oakleaf Food Truck Friday is the most regular event on the Parkway, and it follows a simple rule. According to Oakleaf Food Trucks & Vendor Markets, the Phase 1 night runs on the second Friday of each month at the amenities center, 345 Oakleaf Village Parkway. The Phase 2 night runs on the fourth Friday at Trinity Church, 710 Oakleaf Plantation Parkway.

The most recent Phase 2 night, on Oct. 23, ran 5 to 8 p.m. at Trinity Oakleaf. Its posted lineup included Crown Majestic Kitchen, El Mariachi Loko and Jax Lumpia Atbp LLC.

On the 2026 calendar, the rotation hits two holidays. The fourth Friday of November is Nov. 27, the day after Thanksgiving. The fourth Friday of December is Dec. 25, Christmas Day. The organizer also says events run "almost every week during the warmer months," so the winter schedule may not match the rule. Before you skip cooking on Black Friday, check the event listings at oakleaffoodtrucks.com or the Oakleaf Food Truck Friday Facebook group, both of which the organizer names as its main channels. The Phase 1 Fridays, Nov. 13 and Dec. 11, don't land on holidays.

The same organizer runs rotations just outside Oakleaf proper, too. Wilford Preserve holds a Food Truck Friday on the third Friday at 2740 Firethorn Ave., and Greyhawk hosts Midweek Munchies every other Wednesday at 3645 Royal Pines Dr. If the Phase 2 night takes a holiday break, those are the nearest options on the same calendar.

The Parade's Presenting Sponsor Is the Parkway's Newest Building

This year's parade is presented by HCA Florida Royal Pines Emergency. The freestanding ER is at 1093 Oakleaf Plantation Parkway in Orange Park. HCA announced it was open as of Dec. 16, 2025, according to the release posted through the Jacksonville Regional Chamber, and its location page lists it as open 24 hours.

So the 4th Annual parade is the first one held since the ER opened. It stands about a block from Lady Bird Academy at 1001 and Oakleaf Baptist at 800. In one year, a new building on the Parkway has gone from opening its doors to sponsoring the community's main holiday event.

What Isn't on the Calendar Yet

The library is the addition many residents have been watching for. In July, Clay Today reported that dozens of residents came to the Plantation Oaks Athletic Center for a first look at the roughly 12,000-square-foot design. The site is near Oakleaf Village Elementary at the end of Plantation Oaks Boulevard. Fleischman and Garcia is designing it, E. Vaughan Rivers is handling construction, and a $750,000 grant from the Florida Department of State helped start the design phase. Plans include a covered reading porch, a teen lounge, a children's room that will be one of the building's largest spaces, and a wall gallery for local artists.

In that same Clay Today report, design was described as 90% complete. Library Services Director Mary Canfield hoped to bring the project to commissioners around early October, and construction was estimated to take about a year. The Clay County Board of County Commissioners' Oct. 13 agenda included capital-project updates, but no Oakleaf library construction contract. No groundbreaking date has been announced. A one-year build counts from the start of construction, which hasn't been scheduled.

The commercial site is at an earlier stage. The Jax Daily Record reported on July 29 on a proposed 47.5-acre center at Oakleaf Parkway and District Drive, east of the First Coast Expressway. The plan calls for a 60,000-square-foot grocery anchor, two larger retail sites and 15 smaller outparcels. The grocery tenant wasn't disclosed, and the county's July 30 review was an early step before formal permitting. No tenant or approval has been announced since.

Both projects would change daily routines in Oakleaf, one with a place to take the kids on a Saturday and the other with a grocery store east of the expressway. For now, both are still in planning, with no opening dates. This holiday season will look like last year's, with the festival at Oakleaf Baptist on Nov. 7 and the parade from Trinity Baptist Church to Oakleaf High School on Dec. 5.

If you're new to Oakleaf this year, maybe with orders that landed you here before the holidays, these Parkway dates are an easy way to start meeting neighbors. If the library vote or the District Drive center is part of how you're thinking about your next move, I track both.
